Process Safety

Our Process Safety Studies are designed to help clients manage risk and ensure compliance across all operational phases. We offer expertise in relief and blowdown system design, consequence modelling, bow-tie analysis, and safety case development.

Our services include ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) assessments, hazardous area classification, and Type B appliance audits and approvals. We also conduct comprehensive machine safety assessments in accordance with AS 4024 and ISO 13849 standards, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Full Functional Safety Lifecycle Services

Paps Solutions provides full SIS Lifecycle Services in accordance with IEC / AS 61511, conducting specialised works as both design team and acting as an independent verifier for Functional Safety Assessments from Stage 1 to 5.

Functional Safety Design Services include:

Engineering and Design

Our Engineering & Design services encompass the full project lifecycle, including scoping, concept development, and feasibility studies, through to front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed design. We specialise in multi-discipline design, equipment specification and selection, process facility and pipeline design, and hazardous area design. Our team also conducts pipeline fitness-for-purpose assessments in accordance with AS2885.3 and provides comprehensive design verification and due diligence.

We also offer professional drafting services to support every stage of the design process. All major disciplines are supported by RPEQ review and supervision to ensure technical compliance and quality.

Workshop Facilitation

We offer expert facilitation of safety and risk workshops to support effective decision-making and regulatory compliance. Our services include leading Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Hazard Identification Studies (HAZID), and AS2885 Safety Management Studies (SMS).

We also facilitate Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), risk assessments, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), ensuring a thorough evaluation of potential hazards and controls. In the event of incidents, we conduct detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify underlying issues and support continuous improvement.

Project, Construction and Operations Support

We provide comprehensive Project, Construction, and Operations Support services to ensure the seamless execution and ongoing performance of your assets. Our capabilities include engineering and project management, project engineering, cost estimation, scheduling, and procurement management with expediting. We offer specialised construction management and support, including constructability reviews, commissioning support, and completions system design and management.
